Claudia Lima

Chief Investment Officer

Claudia Lima joined New Jersey Community Capital (NJCC) in April 2024 as Chief Investment Officer. Ms. Lima drives the firm’s integrated investment process within its business lines which include its private equity impact funds, NJCC Lending, and NJCC’s real estate development arm. Ms. Lima is responsible for establishing external partnerships to raise capital and drive deal flow. By working closely with the impact framework and research, she supports the firm’s broader efforts across the impact investing, sustainability, and community development finance.

Prior to NJCC, Ms. Lima was at SDS Community Capital, where she was the Executive Vice President of the Supportive Housing Fund, a private equity impact fund to build affordable housing. She has also served as Managing Director of the Community Lending and Investments unit at CIT Bank, a division of First Citizens Bank, where she was responsible for the capital deployment of equity/public welfare investments (LIHTC, Affordable Housing Preservation Funds, SBICs, CDFIs) and the capital deployment of affordable housing and community facilities construction and permanent lending programs, covering twenty-two states. Other previous roles include VP of Project Finance and Treasurer for a prominent national developer of community facilities where she led efforts to secure financing for new and rehab projects and has also served as the Executive Director of the Los Angeles Office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, one of the largest CDFIs in the nation, where she was responsible for overseeing the lending, equity and grant making activities for affordable housing and community facilities. Ms. Lima began her career in finance with Prudential where she held professional licenses to transact municipal securities and mutual funds.

Ms. Lima holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the USC Marshall School of Business, a Master’s degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, and has completed the USC Ross Program in Real Estate.
