Homeownership provides a pathway to intergenerational wealth while building equity and economic security for individuals and families in underserved communities. Using financial education, pre-purchase homeownership counseling and down payment assistance for eligible homebuyers, the Address Yourself ™ homeownership program works to help low-to-moderate-income individuals and families achieve their homeownership goals.
Address Yourself ™ provides a comprehensive homeownership platform for low-to-moderate income families and individuals. Through partner organizations, pre-purchase housing counseling and following counseling is provided to all clients interested in purchasing a home. When a client is ready to purchase, referrals are made to professionals that specialize in working with low-to-moderate income buyers. As buyers identify the home they wish to purchase, they are invited to apply for down payment assistance. Since inception, Address Yourself ™ has provided housing counseling for 3,192 households and has deployed $5,177,000 in down payment assistance to more than 315 households.
