An Affordable Homeownership Mortgage Program

Creating Equitable Pathways to Homeownership

Homeownership provides a vibrant pathway to intergenerational wealth while building equity and economic security for individuals and families in underserved communities. Partnering with community-based financial institutions and counseling agencies, the Address Yourself ™ Affordable Homeownership Mortgage Program equips low-to-moderate-income families and individuals with homeownership tools such as financial education and pre-purchase counseling resources in preparation for homeownership.

How We Work

Address Yourself ™ has created over 87 homeownership opportunities for individuals and families across New Jersey.

We believe that equitable and accessible housing opportunities should not be riddled with barriers, especially for low-to-moderate-income families. In partnership with Affinity Federal Credit Union and CUMAnet LLC, New Jersey Community Capital launched the Address Yourself ™ Affordable Homeownership Mortgage Program, an affordable homeownership initiative that combines extensive pre-purchase credit counseling with access to low-cost mortgage products to meet the housing and mortgage needs of low-to-moderate-income families while increasing access to sustainable homeownership opportunities.

Address Yourself™ offers high-touch, high-quality life-of-loan support. The program combines multiple risk-mitigation tools to create high-performing loans with sufficient controls to minimize potential losses, including:

  • Pre-purchase counseling
  • Credit enhancement options
  • Life-of-loan support

Who We Serve

Address Yourself ™ serves community-based financial institutions with CRA loan requirements or community investment goals, large banks needing CRA lending options (whole loans and investments), counseling agencies, community developers, and housing agencies working with low-to-moderate-income families.
