The Salt and Light Company

Burlington County

NJCC made its first investment in 1988, giving a $30,000 loan to Salt and Light for the acquisition of a foreclosed building and its rehabilitation as affordable rental housing. Since then, NJCC has continually provided Salt and Light with loans and a line of credit, helping the organization create transitional housing for almost 6,000 homeless individuals, most of whom have transitioned to stable homes.

“As we’ve transformed our organization to respond to changes, NJCC has responded to our needs at every step of the way. They have been our most consistent and friendly lender over the past 32 years.”

– Kent Pipes, President and CEO, Affordable Homes Group (which includes Salt and Light Company)
