The Showroom

Asbury Park

When the Showroom opened in 2009 as Asbury Park’s first movie theater, it immediately became a mainstay of the city’s renowned nightlife.  The theater began an ambitious expansion in 2012, but progress was halted when Sandy hit.  REBUILD New Jersey was the only immediate source of funding available to the Showroom to cover its costs during its closures and low post-storm attendance.  NJCC’s $30,000 loan helped the Showroom to continue expanding, including the addition of five employees.

“Our construction and opening were delayed three weeks, and we had to keep everybody on staff and pay our bills with no new income.  Now we can meet all of our obligations and continue our expansion.”
