Wilfredo and Claudia

Elizabeth

When Wilfredo and Claudia lost their rented apartment and their belongings to a fire in early 2010, they set a goal:  buy their own home.  The couple joined an IDA savings program and took homeownership courses, and after a months-long search, they finally found a house within their budget in Elizabeth—a once-abandoned property that CAPC had restored as affordable for-sale housing.  Three years after losing everything, Wilfredo, Claudia, and their daughter now have a home they can call their own.

“The house has a new roof, new windows, insulation, a new bathroom, and a brand new kitchen.  The entire process has been stressful, but now we are happy.”
